Every smart Moose pitcher contains an rfid tag at the bottom which interacts with the Perfect Moose device. 

When the message below appears on the touch display, this means the smart pitcher contains no rfid tag, a damaged rfid tag or you might be using a regular pitcher (Perfect Moose always works as a combination of the device and a rfid tagged smart Moose pitcher).
